Title: Last Year's Wishes
Fandoms: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
Characters: Jason Lee Scott, Trini Kwan
Pairing: Jason Lee Scott/Trini Kwan
Rating: Gen
AO3 Tags: peace conference, Mid-Canon, Established Relationship, Yuletide Treat
Summary: Away at the Peace Conference, Trini checks in on Jason.
Notes: Written for Griddlebone as part of Yuletide! I'm a sucker for both Jason and Trini, and how a Ranger adapts to losing/giving up their abilities. Your prompt re: Rangers living a normal life inspired this.

“We should be there,” he finally said. “In Angel Grove. With the team.”

“The semester’s almost over,” Trini reminded him. “We’ve talked about going home on break, remember?”

“That’s not what I’m talking about.” Frustrated, Jason rose from his seat, pacing. “They’re fighting without us, Trini. They need us.”

From the tone of the team’s letters, it sounded like they were figuring it out on their own, but she didn’t voice that. “Or do you need them?” Trini asked, gently.

Notes: Written for [personal profile] deemoyza as part of Yuletide!

Her gaze shifted back to the skyline again. There, in the distance, lay a little island. From above, there wasn’t anything to see but greenery and a bit of shoreline, but Celes knew.

There was a little hut.

The fish she caught but couldn’t eat.

A dying man’s last words.

And a woman who decided it was better to live than to die alone.

Title: Happy Golden Days of Yore
Fandoms: Golden Girls
Characters: Rose Nylund, Dorothy Zbornak
Pairing: none
Rating: Gen
AO3 Tags: Alternate Universe - Different First Meeting, Pre-Canon, Holidays
Summary: On a snowy December afternoon in New York City, Rose crosses paths with a stranger.
Notes: Written for ~thinlizzy2 for Yuletide! I struggled a bit with writing this one, but in light of Betty White's recent passing, I feel as though I wrote the fic I needed to when I needed to write it. This one's for you, Betty. ♥

The barista slid a cup of coffee in front of her. “That will be 15 cents.”

Rose blinked. “And I’ll get a cup for her too.” She gestured to the woman and the baby behind her.

“You don’t have to do that,” the woman insisted, juggling the baby around to the other hip so she could reach into her purse. The little girl’s face scrunched together into a wail.

“You should be able to take care of your little one!” Rose insisted. Then she paused. “She is yours, right?” For all Rose knew, she could have been a nanny for some rich family in the city.

The woman raised an eyebrow. “I picked her up from the baby factory on 52nd Street. Of course she’s mine.”

Pairing: n/a
Rating: Gen

Notes: For ~vulcanhighblood, for Yuletide! ♥

Retrieving the bat, she crept towards the door. A third knock came. May checked the peephole, but she couldn’t see anyone there.

Would reporters stoop so low as to come to her home? Weren’t the phone calls bad enough? Bringing the bat into position, she opened the door a crack. “Hello?” May called. “Is someone there?”

“Jeez, lady! Do you greet everyone who knocks on your door with a baseball bat? I bet you don’t get many visitors.”

Title: Here's to the Night
Fandom: Jurassic Park Original Trilogy (Movies)
Characters: Ian Malcolm, Sarah Harding, Nick Van Owen, Kelly Malcolm
Pairing: Sarah Harding/Ian Malcolm/Nick Van Owen
Rating: Teen
AO3 Tags: Alternate Ending, Implied Sexual Content, Found Family, First Time, Recovering from trauma
Summary: They still have their lives. It’s enough to make a man humble.

Notes:For ~blurhawaii. Happy Yuletide! The prompt that spoke the most to me was trying to find a way that Nick doesn't disappear at the end of The Lost World. I was never fond of the whole "T. Rex rampages through San Diego bit" anyway, so I hope this is a better ending than the one we got.

“No, Nick.” Sarah lays a hand on his arm. “We started this together. At least let us finish it the same way.”

His eyes linger on her. She doesn’t move her hand, and Nick doesn’t pull away. She holds her breath, watching the contemplation in his eyes. For half a second, she thinks he’ll turn her down.

Then he laces his fingers with hers, giving it a squeeze. Anyone else would have let go after the first reassurance. Nick hangs on, and Sarah lets him. “Okay,” Nick says. “Just a ride.”

Title: What Doesn't Kill Us Makes Us Who We Are
Fandom: Power Rangers Dino Thunder, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
Characters: Tommy Oliver, Jason Lee Scott
Pairing: n/a
Rating: Gen
AO3 Tags: Old Friends, Mentors, Yuletide Treat
Summary: They needed a Zordon. All they had was Tommy.

Notes: For ~TheSecondBatgirl, as a Yuletide treat. I really loved all of your prompts for Dino Thunder-era Tommy, and the idea of him dealing with angst at being the mentor was too good to pass up.

Set before Tommy becomes the Black Ranger.

“I’m back in the old business again.” He ran his hands over his hair, missing the length of his youth. Tommy wasn’t that kid anymore.

Jason whistled under his breath. “Really? What color do you have this time?”

Even his nightwear - worn gym shorts and a faded tee - were in shades of brown and black. “It’s my students, actually,” he said, and he explained the whole situation. Starting with the teens’ detention and finding the gems to taming their Zords.

“Holy shit.” Jason was quiet on the other end, and the seconds stretched between them. “You’re their Zordon.”

In a really foul mood, and trying to focus on other things aside from berating myself about things I have no control over. Tomorrow is day seven of eight opens in a row and I am thisclose to snapping. Everything that could go wrong this week has. Today it was getting 20 cases of bacon egg bites and coming into half a pallet of pastries left sitting out on the floor. Guess who got to call around and try to find homes for all this food my slow cafe won't sell?

*headdesk* I need a fucking vacation, and can't afford one until... idk. Next summer. Maybe.

My [community profile] hlh_shortcuts fic is posted, and now begins the wait to see if the recipient likes it. My beta approved of it, so that helps, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I've also finished both my Yuletide assignment and one treat. Is anyone able to help beta the main gift? I'm doing first edits now and since I wrote it in present tense - not my usual style - I would love an extra eye for the grammar bits. I'm less worried about the treat, as it's a fandom I know better and Matt called it "wholesome," so I guess it's alright.

I also have to finish craft fair prepping for Saturday, and I am nowhere near where I wanted to be with that. ._.

Maybe when I can finally sleep past 4am, I'll feel better.
