2025 Goals

Publish my rockstar Valentine romance. This is already in motion, so I need to stick with it and not drop the ball (or get so anxious that I cancel the preorders and wait another year).

Finish editing Haven's Point Book 2 and publish. Current timeline for this is to publish for June, which is absolutely doable if I don't fuck around and actually do it. Also, this one needs a new title??? I'll get there.

Finish drafting My Girl By July. I can't fathom actually publishing this one in 2025, though it would be awesome to have it done by Christmas. I will settle for a finished first draft and a start on editing.

Finish drafting All My Exes Live in Texas. In an ideal world, this book would would drop in 2025, but we'll see.

Only write fics that bring me joy. Carrying this over from years past!

Take care of yourself. I will finally see the dreaded eye doctor in February and I need to find a new therapist in the new year, both of which are terrifying, but that's progress... right?

GYWO goals. 300 days writing, with an unofficial goal of 200k words written.

2023 GOALS

Finish draft 3 of How Wild Are We and send to the next round of beta readers.

This is in progress, and draft 3 doesn't need nearly as much as much work as draft 2 did. I hope to have this out to readers by February 28.

Once draft 3 notes are back, one last edit of How Wild Are We.

I want to give readers a month with this, so.... springtime?

Query How Wild Are We.

s;ldfkjsl;dfjsdlf If we want our work to be seen, we have to put it out there. Therefore, we query. Hoping to start by summer.

Complete first edits on Lay All Your Love On Me.

I will start edits on this after I finish HWAW's next round, so late winter/early spring.

Plot out My Girl By July; potentially draft.

Ideally, I would like to draft Danger's book for November's NaNo; timeline on this will be determined by how other edits are going by the time we get to the fall.

Plot and draft the Holiday Romance.

Timeline and length will be determined by what my writing group decides on; I'm hoping this is a shorter story/novella than a full length novel.

Only write fics that bring me joy.

We are not wasting time on fandoms who don't appreciate/respect us. We are not writing for challenges that stress us out. Fics are meant to be fun and if that's not doing it for me, I'm not going to write it.

Take care of yourself.

Make the doctor's appointments you've been putting off. Keep working on the anxiety. I can do this.

2022 Goals

First round of edits for How Wild Are We.
- include new scene ideas and first round of thoughts from Meg
- get to beta readers by March 31

Participate in 3 fic challenges.
- Chocolate Box (winter)
- Press Start (late summer)
- Yuletide (fall)
- AND THAT'S FUCKING IT.

Do not write MCU fic.
- what it says on the tin.
- exception: working on the PR/MCU crossover. Currently not a priority.

Once edits on How Wild Are We return:
- examine plot changes and edits for draft 3
- complete draft 3 edits (tentative timeline: end of summer?)

Plot How Wild Are We Book 2.
- This will be Corwin/Sophia, Kay & Rhys' wedding and who turned the Richards siblings
- tentative timeline: November NaNo?

In my personal life:
- Keep working on the anxiety via therapy, recognition, and self-care
- Take breaks as needed

Challenge #4

In your own space, create some goals.

It just occurred to me that I never posted my 2021 goals to my DW, so this is as good a time as any!

goals under here! )

November 2020 Goals )

October was super busy thanks to all the stuff Stacy and I did for NaNo prep with our region. Our Discord server now serves all of Maine - we had the biggest, active group, and since everything is online this year, we invited the other Maine regions to join us. It's good to be social and on my own terms, which is nice. I'm pretty sure November is going to be more of the same.

October 2020 Goals )

To be honest, I had to take a break in September to rest my brain. Editing was getting to be really overwhelming, so I bought some new writing books (Save the Cat Writes a Novel and Romancing the Beat, which should be here this week) and have been reading through them for inspiration. I figured out how to rewrite the scene I was stuck on, so hopefully I'll get back on track.

Here's to a productive October.
August Goals Wrap Up )

September 2020 Goals )

Overall, I think I did okay!
Now that Camp NaNoWriMo is over for the month, let's see how I did on those goals!

Primary Goals:

- 25k words - smashed this out of the park; I ended the month with 40,540 words. Part of this is because Meghan and I got to write together this month, which hasn't happened in a few months. I'll take it, because it boosts my word count and it's fun to write with other people.

- Angel of Mine, an MCU AU with angels and demons involved - I do wish I got a little further with this, considering I had this lofty goal of getting ten chapters drafted over the course of July which, lol, don't happen. I'm probably in what will be considered Chapter 4, but I still have time.

Secondary Goals:
- My Press Start assignment, then treats - I have drafted my assignment, plus a treat, plus one more started. Yeah, safe to say I've done well with that, lol.

- Seven Seas of Rhye - Whoops. Didn't even touch it. I think I looked at the Scrivener doc a couple times though.

- A Hero Lies in You edits - Though I haven't started actual edits, I did make a timeline for the story, which I didn't bother to do while I was writing the first draft, and I have a good idea of what scenes need to be added for the next draft. I still have to look at the back half of the novel for additional scenes (likely towards the end), but I'm okay with the progress made on this one.

This round was more productive than I thought it was going to be. Part of that is because I unexpectedly ended up with two weeks off that I hadn't planned for, and was actually able to write at home for that time. I have a routine for when I'm home now that balances writing and crafting, and I'll keep that up for as long as it's working.

Now to knock out August's editing goals! What is everyone working on this month?

Challenge #4

In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private.

Happy first day of NaNoWriMo! I was called into work on my day off and now work six days this week!

So yeah, good vibes would be appreciated.

NaNo goals )

WIP Wednesday may return next week with a NaNo update. I haven't decided yet. Here's hoping I have progress I actually want to talk about.
