Editing is a lot of work and for me, it's usually as much, if not more work than writing the initial draft. I easily spend an hour on editing just the first page of almost every I write without fail. Writing is a process and we all differ with how many passes we do or how long they take. Do what feels good for you. No one gets it right on the first draft. I had to rewrite the entire first chapter and half of another while also adding an extra 3-5K of plot into my ScarletVision fic before I sent it to you and I'm still spending 2~ hours a chapter on polish before I post them. I didn't even come close to getting it right on the first try lol to me, it's less about being good on the first pass and more about recognizing where you need to strengthen your story. The fact you know what needs to be fixed is amazing. Not every writer can do that ♥

I just need to remind myself that it's okay if my overall word counts are lower because of all the editing work. DUDE. SAME. Also see - more reasons why I'm doing the habit goal next year. Also also, I expected to spend all of my time writing my high school AU in hopes to spend next year editing it, which... I'm not... at all... sigh. Go us ♥
