Heartwarming stories from my first convention as a vendor:
♥ A young person looked over my crochet kitties, picks up a rainbow one, and goes, "Oh, is this me?? Is this a queer kitty?"
So I pointed out the trans pride kitty and said, "Trans kitty says trans rights."
And this kid just beams and moves their jacket so I can see their trans pin. So that kitty found the right home.
♥ A little girl came back to our table this morning "just to say hi" with her crochet kitty in her pocket.
♥ Someone paid double for one of my little crochet books and told me that I'm undercharging for my work, so I'm getting a tip.
♥ A Bucky Barnes cosplayer bought a big white kitty, stuffed it in her jacket, so she would have an Alpine.
♥ My new display works lovely, even if Jon had to come down to fix the base. He showed up with a drill and spray glue in his backpack to save the day.
All in all, I made over $400 in the weekend. I had 47 little kitties made, including the ones I made over the weekend, and I sold all but 12 of them. Time to get to work for the Steep Falls fair next Saturday!
