Even though I'm back at work, and struggling through days with a mask on and ever-changing procedures of how we're supposed to help customers, I'm still here. We will be reopening the cafe for grab and go (meaning: yes you can come in to order and pick up your drinks, no, you are not allowed to sit and hang out) on June 15. Next week we should also be expanding our hours so we close a little later, which is good, because this is the last week we still get catastrophe pay and we're gonna need the hours. (My hours don't change, and I've been working almost to my average, but that means my coworkers won't be fighting for my opening time.)

Also - somehow - one of our bathroom sinks at work fell off the wall?? And no one will tell me how it happened? Like fuck, guys. Our bathrooms currently aren't open to the public. Don't do freaky shit in our bathrooms. Or if the store actually is falling apart, just tell me so I can make fun of it even more. Please.

So of course, the world being what it is, I decided to pick up another writing challenge.

[tumblr.com profile] tilltheendwilliwrite is running another prompt challenge, over here. And it had picture prompts for angels and I just... I'm a fucking sucker for anything that has wings on it. (Hence why most of my other usernames are a variation of ~wingsyouburn, from Something Corporate's "Only Ashes.")

And the next thing I know, this massive MCU-but-with-angels AU dropped into my lap.

I'm trying to be good and focus on plotting/worldbuilding right now. I want to make sure I have my angels clearly defined, as well as the demons they fight. I'm working on an actual profile and timeline for the new character I'm creating, Rosalie, because she's a century old and I don't want to accidentally stumble upon parts of her history when I'm halfway through writing.

I have to have something posted by September 1, which is doable, especially considering that I'll be doing Press Start this summer too. There's also Successor Challenge, but let's be real: I say I want to do that every year, and then I never fucking do, and I don't think I'm missing much tbh. I am considering starting posting once I have 10-ish chapters finished, based on the size of what I'm writing and the time I have in which to do it. I want things to be so perfect, edited and completely ready to go, and I know that if I choose to post like this, chances are life will get in the way and I won't actually finish the story.

But maybe I'll get a following, and that will encourage me to post weekly until the story is done. Who the fuck knows. Right now, I'm having fun, and trying to write whatever makes me happy. Having a new story to play with does that.

And I got Animal Crossing!! I get to visit [personal profile] runicmagitek's island! And catch fishies! And decorate my house!! It's the chill game I didn't realize I needed.

Summary: Now a guardian on Yuna's pilgrimage, Rydia has to find her place among the group - and learns the world and politics of Spira are bigger than she knows.

A direct sequel to Left Your Mark On Me.

Notes: I told Runic that I would write them a sequel to this story at some point, and now it's taken on a life of its own. I hope you all enjoy!

The version of Rydia is based on how she appears in World of Final Fantasy, and as such, she does not go through the rapid aging process as she does in Final Fantasy IV.

After a few minutes of riding in comfortable silence, Yuna looked over at Rydia. “How are you feeling?” she asked, fidgeting with the chocobo’s reins.

“I’m fine.” Rydia flashed her a smile, one that didn’t reach her eyes.

“Do you want to talk about it?”

“What happened?” Rydia shook her head. “Not particularly. Everyone else seems to think I’m ill-fitted to be a part of your group.”

“No, they haven’t,” Yuna assured her. Lulu’s words were often harsh, but Yuna believed Lulu just wanted the best for her. Same with Wakka and Kimahri. “Besides, it’s not their decision anyway. It’s mine, and I want you here.”
