Remember when I said I was going to post updates for every day of Camp NaNoWriMo? Hahahahahahaha whelp, that didn't fucking happen.
The good news is that I did meet both my word count and day count goals for April. I have yet to miss a day writing this year, which is great, even though my daily word counts are much less than I'm used to. Part of that is being out of routine since I was out of work and therefore didn't get my early morning writing time. And, you know, quarantine shit. The fact that any words were written at all is something to celebrate.
My final total word count for April's Camp NaNo was 32,610 words. In comparison, this is 20k less than what I wrote last April. But then again, I was also writing like crazy to draft A Hero Lies In You in 2019, so there's that.
As for my goals for this round of Camp:
- Edit and Post Ain't Nothing But A Heartache (MMPR) - Did this, you can read it here!
- Edit and Post When A Heart Knows Fear (Final Fantasy IV/X - when it comes back from beta) - Edits are not yet complete, so this is on hold until they are. Fingers crossed this is posted in May!
- Edit and Post untitled Squall/Rinoa fic (Final Fantasy VIII) - lol shit I forgot to do this
- Finish untitled Laguna & Ellone fic (Final Fantasy VIII) - whoops forgot about this one too
- Forward progress on Seven Seas of Rhye (PR/MCU) - Okay. So it's not done. At all. But! I have added a few finished scenes and I have a better idea of where some parts need to go. I wouldn't say I'm any closer to being done than I was a month ago, but I will say that forward progress was made. So, half accomplished?
In other news, I go back to work on Monday (fuuuuuuuuuuck) and in order to fight my anxiety on that, I just play a lot of Final Fantasy VII Remake. Should beat that tonight. I also decided to write whatever the fuck I wanted towards the end of Camp, so I have six out of seven fics written for Tifa Week on tumblr and I'm almost finished with a Bucky/Darcy fic from a prompt Matt gave me ages ago.
I'm going to consider this round successful because I wrote things and was happy with them. That's all that matters.
