2022 Goals

♥ First round of edits for How Wild Are We.
- include new scene ideas and first round of thoughts from Meg
- get to beta readers by March 31

♥ Participate in 3 fic challenges.
- Chocolate Box (winter)
- Press Start (late summer)
- Yuletide (fall)
- AND THAT'S FUCKING IT.

♥ Do not write MCU fic.
- what it says on the tin.
- exception: working on the PR/MCU crossover. Currently not a priority.

♥ Once edits on How Wild Are We return:
- examine plot changes and edits for draft 3
- complete draft 3 edits (tentative timeline: end of summer?)

♥ Plot How Wild Are We Book 2.
- This will be Corwin/Sophia, Kay & Rhys' wedding and who turned the Richards siblings
- tentative timeline: November NaNo?

♥ In my personal life:
- Keep working on the anxiety via therapy, recognition, and self-care
- Take breaks as needed

You got some great goals there! I just wanted to touch base with you and see if you still up to being editing (accountability) buddies. Just let me know and how you think we should go about it. I've never done this. ;) I don't know about you, but I could use some real cheerleading from friends too. For the Snowflake challenge I finally said out loud that I want to edit my novel (Rare Vintage), then get to my betas, and eventually have a publisher look at it. O.o

Yes! I started editing my novel this week, so having an accountability buddy would be awesome! I've been part of online writing groups and such but I haven't had a one-on-one accountability friend before. Maybe we could do a weekly check in with each other to see how we're doing and what we might need help with? And after edits we could discuss what we might want out of beta reading and possibly read for each other?

Also, it's awesome that you're looking to publish too! I'm hopeful that I'll have this novel ready for submission by the end of this year. I've never submitted anything either and it's scary to think about, but we got this! ♥

Well, I can finally say that I've started editing my novel... today. *lol*

It feels good to finally start on it. It's going to be quite a while to get it done. It's a long novel, over 106k words.

Don't know if I told you, or not, but mine is a X-Files casefic (with a little supernatural element) completely rewritten into an original novel.

What is yours about?

Yes! Any start is good! Are you the sort of writer who will lose words when you edit, or add them? Generally I find that I always cut way more than I add, which is fine, but I also know there's a few scenes/ideas I have to add, so I might end up around the same word count. Maybe.

Oooooh I'm here for stories with a lil supernatural to them! I remember you saying you'd rewritten yours from the ground up. What kind of supernatural elements are you using? With X-Files as a basis, that could be almost anything!

I'm editing a paranormal romance novel based on one of my old RP characters! The nerd girl is turned into a werewolf after a horrific attack, and that's when she learns that her high school crush is the alpha of his high-class pack. I wanted to play with the "alpha male" trope and show an alpha who, while he has his moments of being a jerk, is really dedicated to doing what's right for his pack, even when they'd rather he stick to the status quo and not change anything.

I will probably lose words. But that's okay.

The supernatural element? One of the protaganists is half-vampire. Yes, that comes into play in the story, but no, it's not the main plotline.
