Challenge #8

Rec at least three fanworks that you didn’t create.

Always Be a Room for You by [archiveofourown.org profile] runicmagitek (Final Fantasy VIII, gen)

This story deserves all the notes and I don't understand how it managed to fly under the radar, and I'm not just saying that because it was my Christmas gift one year. It's about Rinoa finding her place among the Timber Resistance movement after leaving Deling City, it hits all those delicious found family notes, and it's set to the backdrop of the holidays without being overly sentimental. I love it so much and I hope this series (Burn the Witch) is something Runic gets back to at some point. ♥

Waitin' For The Man With The Shield by [archiveofourown.org profile] PumpkinDoodles (MCU, Steve/Darcy)

Borderline crackfic in the most adorable way! Darcy and Jane move to the Tower around Christmas time, and Steve and Darcy keep missing each other throughout the season. Also features the only story in which I like Brock Rumlow. Honestly, it's one of those fics that I go back and read when I'm having a rough day because it always makes me feel better.

Balance on the Head of a Pin by [archiveofourown.org profile] tilltheendwilliwrite (MCU, Loki/OC, Thor/Sif, Heimdall/Maria Hill, Fandral/Natasha)

Balance is book one of the Blessings of the Norn's Goddess series, and it's a massive, beautiful work. It follows Lauren, the personal assistant to the Avengers, as she falls for Loki and discovers her place in the universe is far greater than she ever imagined it would be. T has a way of working original characters flawlessly with the canon, and all the extra characters she created for this series - Lauren's family especially - are so well done. Definitely worth a read!

Stone and Sand by [archiveofourown.org profile] SassySnowperson (Star Wars, Bodhi/Luke)

The Bodhi/Luke fic I didn't know I needed. Bodhi returns to Jedha to help his people, and he and Luke have a lot of growing up to do.
